Victory Downs Braford Sale

One of South Australia’s largest cattle stations, Victory Downs is holding its first sale of 2000 high quality Braford steers early next month at the Goondiwindi saleyards.

With properties located in northern South Australia and New South Wales, Victory Downs has been owned and operated by the Morton family for many years. Victory Downs comprises approximately 7000 Braford cows and due to dry conditions has had to background weaners in New South Wales.

Landmark Wagga’s Senior Livestock Account Manager, Jarrod Slattery said it has been a great opportunity for the Landmark team to work with Bruce Morton and his family and to be involved with a sale of this magnitude.

“This is a significant sale particularly as it’s the first time the Morton family is offering 2000 straight bred Braford steers,” Jarrod said.

“These steers are 2006/2007 drop and have been running on Merryanbone Station at Warren, New South Wales for the last eight months where they have grown to ideal feeder weights.”

The staff at Victory Downs and the Landmark livestock team are very pleased with the condition of the cattle.

Victory Downs cattle are noted for their ability to produce a high yielding carcass critical for the Jap Ox market and demonstrate excellent weight gain on either grain or grass.

Landmark Goondiwindi’s Senior Livestock Account Manager, Darren Smith said they highly recommend their quality to interested buyers.

“It’s not every day we see an opportunity like this to purchase high grade Braford steers,” Darren said.

The sale is being held on Friday, 5 December at the Goondiwindi Saleyards at 9.00am (Qld time). There will also be an additional 1000 head of store cattle for sale from surrounding properties.
