Landmark Invests in Agricultural Leaders

Landmark is expanding its graduate recruitment program in 2008, targeting final-year students around Australia who are studying for a business related degree with an agricultural focus.

As a major supplier of goods and services across the agricultural spectrum, Landmark needs a stream of high-calibre young people coming into the business to help drive growth, according to Landmark general manager, Graeme Jacobs.

"We are expanding our graduate cadetship and graduate agronomist programs to help attract talent to the company and build the next generation of business leaders," Mr Jacobs said.

"Over 2006 and 2007 we took in 14 graduates, this year we have 20 graduates in our career development programs and we will be seeking up to 30 graduates to start with us in February 2009.

"We identify people with the essential agricultural science or business background, invest in them through providing further learning, on the job development, mentoring and structured performance feedback. This investment provides a strong foundation for their future career prospects.

"Working within our program they earn an excellent salary, in recognition of the contribution they make to the business, while at the same time gaining the hands-on experience they need.

"We aim to help them to discover where their talents and passions lie, which provides focus for their future career direction.

"Whether it be for our graduate cadetship program across the broader business in merchandise, agronomy, livestock, wool, real estate and finance, or for our dedicated graduate agronomy program, we have a long-term view to finding and training the best available people to service our rural clients, so final-year students in the appropriate disciplines should keep an eye out for the Landmark name," Mr Jacobs said.

Landmark has launched its recruitment campaign for the 2009 graduate development programs to all tertiary institutions offering appropriate degrees. Interested students are welcome to register their interest until 31 August 2008 via the Landmark website.
