Hillcreston Pinehill partnership of Bigga, NSW have continued their success in producing traditional superfine wool this week in Sydney. A bale of 12.1 micron wool went up for sale on Wednesday 19th June which was the finest bale that has been sold through the auction system this year in Australia.

The 12.1 micron bale, with a yield of 74.1% and strength of 40N/kt and a length of 72mm sold for 18,000 cents to The Schneider Group. They also purchased the second Hillcreston Pinehill bale on offer which was 12.6 micron, with a yield of 74.4% and strength of 41 N/kt and a length of 77mm which sold for 11,500 cents.

The bales were awarded the prestigious 1PP, which is decided on by an independent committee. They were unanimous on the decision for both bales. This continues the strong history which Hillcreston bloodlines have of producing the finest and best bales of wool. They are famous for receiving this accreditation, which is highly sought after by the Italian spinners in the market.

Hillcreston will have their annual on-property ram sale on the 8th November 2013. For more information regarding the stud, contact Landmark Goulburn on (02) 4824 1433, or Craig Lawson on 0419 413 062.
