Crop Monitoring Services

To provide the most useful recommendations for your crops, our agronomists need hard science. Using soil and plant tissue samples collected from your paddocks, we analyse and interpret the data to give you valuable insights and guidance on how to manage your farm.

Strategic Sampling

Precision agriculture technologies can be used to determine the location and extent of areas with different fertility characteristics. Pinpointing plant tissue and soil nutrient levels at geo-referenced locations, when combined with other field-specific data, helps you to better understand those characteristics, and the possible underlying causes of fertility variations. With this knowledge, you enhance your ability to make data-driven decisions on increasing input efficiency and yield potential.

Echelon® allows you to take plant and soil samples that are strategically selected, based on an additional sources of information, such as a map of yield, elevation, soil texture or NDVI (normalised difference vegetation index). In this example, a satellite NDVI biomass image has been used to place target GPS points for sampling. After the laboratory tests are completed, NutriScription® reports from your Landmark Agronomist display the results in an easy-to-read format, allowing you to compare locations. This gives you greater insight into any variability in vegetative biomass within the field.

Equipped with this data, you are in a position to make informed management decisions more aligned with your business input strategy. This could be deciding on a variable rate application of a product, or simply returning to sampling locations to monitor nutrient levels. Have a chat with your Landmark Agronomist to find out more about the capabilities of Echelon®.
