World’s Finest Wool Bale set for Auction

The world’s finest wool bale will be offered at auction on Thursday 26th June 2008.

The bale will be offered on behalf of Hillcreston Pinehill Partnership in Landmark's auction catalogue on Thursday 26th June 2008 at Yennora Wool Selling Centre, Denistoun Avenue, Guildford, NSW.

Hillcreston Pinehill Partnership, consisting of Murray & Leanne Picker, Grant & Jenna Picker, Brett & Sue Picker, and Wayne and Carol Krause is based in southern New South Wales.

Landmark’s Southern NSW Wool Manager Craig Lawson said he expected strong interest from international superfine buyers and processors who will recognise the excellent preparation and depth of breeding in producing this ultrafine wool bale.

“In addition to breaking the record for the finest bale of wool ever to be offered at sale, Hillcreston Pinehill Partnership achieved a world first by being accredited with eleven 1PP wool types for the 2006/07 wool selling season,” said Craig Lawson.

“Their incredible achievements show the dedication and passion they have to produce the best product for the world’s elite fashion industry.”

The previous record was an 11.8 micron bale produced by The Wool Factory of Horsham, Victoria, in 2004.
