Along with the best season they’ve seen for ten years, the team at Hillston are enjoying their newly upgraded workspace and merchandise showroom. The showroom features new gondolas, new shelving and a new customer service counter and our full range is on display for clients to see, in a clean and dust free environment.

Hillston is located 110 kilometres north of Griffith on the Kidman Way, the all-weather road that runs through outback New South Wales – stretching from Jerilderie in the south to Barringun, 800 kilometres north.

The area surrounding Hillston has become a diverse cropping region in the past few years, with the rise of broadacre cereal crops, cotton, potatoes, citrus, almonds, olives, cherries and seed crops now being grown. It has a strong sheep and cattle heritage, which now includes a growing goat export industry, primarily for sales into Asia.

The Hillston team’s client base stretches 150km west to Ivanhoe, 150km north to Mount Hope, 100km east to Lake Cargellico and 60km south to Goolgowi.

Peter Hogno, Account Manager-Merchandise, said, “Because of the new merchandise space, we’ve seen clients returning who we haven't seen for years.

“We have had challenges in getting the building finished. A freak hailstorm in July caused the new ceiling to collapse. But, we are really excited to be finally in and trading now.

“It now gives us the best retail offering of any rural reseller in town and along with the new branding, our business has a real professional feel to it.

“As well as our traditional client base, we are also getting the townsfolk coming to see the new building as well.

Peter believes the introduction of Landmark Rewards has also given the team a real advantage over competitors because it provides a selling advantage without having to discount the price.

“We managed to switch one of the biggest farmers in the area back to us by discussing the rewards program and the benefits it offered,” Peter said.
