Landmark Yearling & Broodmare Sale and Landmark Challenge 2011

After the success of the Landmark Classic in Tamworth and Paradise Lagoons in northern Queensland, Landmark is set to add a new and exciting concept to their calendar - the Landmark Yearling & Broodmare Sale and Challenge 2011.

To be held at the Toowoomba Showgrounds on 6 and 7 May 2011, the sale will be broadened to  include both registered Australian Stock Horses and Australian Quarter Horses, an initiative that brings Toowoomba on line with both Paradise Lagoons and Tamworth.

For a number of years, Landmark has had a strong association with the Toowoomba market acting as selling agent for the annual Australian Stock Horse Society sale.

In line with the commitment made by Landmark earlier in the year, the Challenge will be open to all yearlings purchased at the 2010 Toowoomba Broodmare and Yearling Sale. Prize money to the value of $5,000 will be on offer, with 20% paid to vendors of the successful horses in the Challenge.

Landmark’s national livestock commercial manager, Mark Barton said they’re really excited about the chance to expand the Toowoomba event.

“Opening all of our sales up to include both registered stock and quarter horses has proven to be a great way to offer more horses to a wider market of potential buyers.

“By hosting the competition, we can offer more buyers and sellers the chance to compete for a fantastic prize pool whilst also being part of a well promoted sale event.

“The Landmark Challenge will be an open event with category prizes for horses aged five years and under at the time they compete. This is expected to offer many competitors a great opportunity to give young horses entered in the Cloncurry Stockman’s Challenge a good hit out, just six to eight weeks prior to that feature event,” Mr Barton said
