Foster’s appoints Landmark as lead vineyard sale agent

Agribusiness real estate specialist, Landmark, has been appointed by Foster’s Group Limited as the lead domestic agent to handle the sale of 31 of its vineyards in Australia.

Landmark’s General Manager Client Services David Johnson said Landmark included a strong team of viticulturalists and agronomists and was an acknowledged leader in achieving successful and effective sales of rural properties.

This portfolio of well-managed Australian vineyards, across key wine regions, including many to be sold with grape sale agreements, is expected to attract strong interest from both domestic and international buyers,” Mr Johnson said.

The vineyards are situated in South Australia (Clare Valley, Coonawarra, Eden Valley, Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale, Padthaway and Wrattonbully), New South Wales (Hunter Valley, Mudgee, Murray-Darling, Tumbarumba and Tumblong) and Victoria (Glenlofty, Glenrowan and Yarra Valley).

“Landmark will prepare full catalogues for each property and present these to prospective buyers within Australia,” Mr Johnson said. “The sale process will entail a Registration of Interest followed by a tender process for each property, with full details available to prospective purchasers in May.”

Colliers International will be appointed as the international marketing agent for the vineyards.

The divestment program was announced as one of the key outcomes of Foster’s strategic and operational review of its global wine business, completed in February 2009.
