Star Park Quarter Horses, Mr. Ken Cullen of Wondai QLD sold Lot 78, an exceptional 4 year old chestnut mare known as “Cdees Mystic Spin,” to top the 2011 Landmark Paradise Lagoons Performance Sale Horse at $27,000.

Presented by Kumbia trainer, Mr. Bill Carey, “Cdees Mystic Spin” is sired by “Bank Fulo Cdees” (Imp) Q-44738, out of Buc Spinnie Q-27814, who is sired by Doc's Spinifex (Imp) Q-5015. Purchased by Waugoola Pastoral Co of Canowindra NSW.

Top selling stallion of the sale was Lot 1 “Fern Hills Bennett” he sold for $23,000. Vendor, Warren Offord was convinced to sell by his high regard for the purchasers, Craig and Belinda Ellrott of Morinish. The young couple already have a filly on the ground by the stallion and were keen to let Warren continue to use the sire in his breeding program. Belinda Ellrott commented, "Craig sent me along with a budget, but I blew that! The stallion is a nice type of horse with a lovely temperament and he's ready to go ahead in the campdrafting arena. We like the fact that Warren has given him a really good grounding."

Georgina O'Neill of 'Mt Oweenee Station', Charters Towers QLD and Simcal Partnership, 'South Telarah', Bundarra, NSW shared equal top price honours in the offering of geldings. Reaching $12,000, Georgina parted with “Seligman Jack”, a rising 7 year old palomino gelding sired by “Seligman Spin” Q-43083 and from an “Oaks Jack Hammer” Q-3090 bred mare. Sale organiser, Colby Ede of Landmark Rockhampton was pleased with the sale results and the reputation that the sale is gaining, "We had a good seasoned catalogue of horses and that reflected on the average. We're aiming our sale at the performance market, that might be campdrafting, cutting, mustering, or whatever market you want a horse for, but you're going to find a really good quality of horse on offer. It's not about quantity for us."

Landmark looks forward to strengthening the Paradise Lagoons Performance Horse Sale in 2012 and a sincere thankyou to all vendors and purchasers for their commitment and support of the equine industry.
