1700 head of cattle sold for $1,100,000

The 19th annual Lynoch reputation sale held last week grossed an impressive $1,100,000 from nearly 1700 head of cattle.

Held at the Armidale Selling Complex, on offer were one brand vendor bred EU accredited Santa, Santa-Hereford, Angus and Shorthorn cross steers and heifers.

A total of 1386 steers were sold averaging $677 with 307 heifers selling for an average price of $494.

On the day there were some 50 registered buyers including a good number of repeat and first up buyers.

The main buying strength came from Walcha, Gunnedah and Tamworth. Buying power also came from local areas and Meandarra in Queensland.

Recognised for offering “good doing” cattle, the annual sale did not disappoint and proved very popular once again according to John Teitzel from Landmark Armidale.

“We were met by a very strong market, driven particularly by the fact cattle such as this will go ahead and perform under all seasonal conditions.

“Lynoch cattle are top quality and well bred stock. They were also extremely well presented, a credit to the Coventry family and management,” Mr Teitzel said.
